This campground has many good wooded campsites, but the ones between the pool and office are just like a gravel parking lot. The pull through spots were divided by trees, and are the nicest pull throughs I have ever seen. Spots 50, 51, 52 are extremely close together and would be good for several camping families together, but not very nice for individual families. They charge an extra five dollars per child per day which at the price of the campsites I think is disgraceful.
Some spots here are very uneaven: it is very difficult to get your trailer level. Most spots are very large, with mature trees. Fill up on water when you enter as there is no other way to get water. The river is very natural and you may get mucky or sandy when swimming. The electric hookups are not located in good spots, be careful to get your rig close enough to plug in, (boxes are shared between sites.)
Campground needs some trees planted, line ups for sewage dump at the end of the weekend. Canandagua is a great little town, campground is nice and close to the speedway.
This park is expensive, but nice, close to Watkins Glen which is a beautiful hike. Close to Dundee speedway and Watkins Glen race track, slight noise from track may bother some people. The town is small but has a lot of stores to see including a Wal-Mart, the town is right on the lake which is beautiful. They need to plant some trees and keep the pool cleaner, but the patio sites are neat.
Very nice campground, spots at front are a bit noisy, as they are close to the road. Many mature trees, lots of shady spots, but spots are close together with out separating trees, typical of KOA campgrounds. Very helpful young people at the front desk. Very close to the outlet mall and Mercer Raceway Park.
